Nick Chini

MBA, Director

Nick Chini has over fifteen years of experience conducting acquisition and strategic analysis in the energy, technology, nd industrial product markets. He has over seven years with Bainbridge Consulting and Bainbridge Capital. From oil and gas exploration to bulk terminal and transloading facilities, Mr. Chini has analyzed over 500 product and service companies, covering 200 markets for strategic planning, competitive intelligence, market due diligence, product positioning, acquisition search and due diligence, and financial valuation. Mr. Chini’s clients in M&A include Kinder Morgan, Cano Petroleum, Microsoft, Coca Cola, Mitretek, Ralcorp, and more. His deals have ranged from the $560mm acquisition of Davison companies by Genesis Energy to transactions of technology assets by Microsoft.

Nick Chini holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Lehigh University. Mr. Chini earned a specialty in marketing from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and has completed advanced studies at Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation.

Joey Goss

Equity Partner

In 1979, Joey Goss began his career in the residential construction business. In August 1989, he established a startup housing company, Cheldan Homes. By 2004, Cheldan Homes was ranked in the top 5% of all new homebuilding companies in United States measured by unit count and revenue. Currently the company is in the top 200 residential building companies in the country.

In 2005, Mr. Goss sold one third of Cheldan Homes to a large equity group to diversify his investments. Joey Goss has been involved at the national, state and local levels of the National Association of Homebuilders and Cheldan continues to be in the top tier of DFW homebuilders and a leader in the industry.

As CEO of Cheldan Homes, Joey Goss has been featured in national publications such as Professional Builder, Big Builder Magazine, Newsweek and many other regional publications.

One of Mr. Goss’s tenets for business is “you make your money when you buy.” He’s been known throughout his career to have a keen sense for the value of fixed asset classes.

As an investor, Mr. Goss has a proven track record as a:

  • Shareholder in The Convene Corporation
  • Shareholder in regional DFW bank
  • Equity partner in Strategic Title, a subsidiary of Stewart Guaranty
  • Managing member of numerous real estate investment LLCs
  • Oil and gas entrepreneur with proven production in the Permian Basin, Ector County, Texas and exploration operations in Tom Green County, Texas.

Joey and his wife, Kayemille Goss, have been married for 25 years. They are very proud of their three children and a son-in-law. Goss is an Elder at Pathway Church in Burleson, Texas, and an active member at Highridge Church in Fort Worth, Texas.

Jerry D. Jackson

Senior Executive Operating Trustee & Compliance Officer For Strata Exploration Trust

Jerry brings 38 years of drilling , completions, production operations and management. Jerry started his career in his family’s oil and gas business in 1980. Jerry started in the field and worked his way to VP of Operations. He served as CEO and President of two drilling companies ( Jerry Jackson Drilling Company and Jackson & Simmen Drilling Inc.) along with one operating company (Jackson Oil & Gas Ltd.) that had operations in Oklahoma and North Central Texas. While holding the executive and senior management positions, Jerry provided guidance to the companies by setting strategic and achievable short and long-term goals.
Jerry has been part of the drilling teams for Quicksilver Resources, Devon Energy, Rice Energy Inc., and Energen Resources. Jerry coached drill site supervisors, drilling rig personal, and all third party contractors to enhance their performance that saved the operator as much as 30% off of the AFE.
As the project manager on one of the recent projects (The Reach Group / Hunt Oil CO2 Project), Jerry, in a two month period, reduced the drilling time by 48% per well and the non-productive time by 57%. Jerry was able to successfully developed Maximum Optimization by developing a Culture of Efficiency and Safety.
Jerry has evaluated and produced geological and reserves studies on Oil and Gas Properties for investments purposes in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, North Dakota, Louisiana, New Mexico, Illinois, Indiana, Georgia, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Alberta Canada. While working for an Investment Firm in Dallas, Jerry lead the firm as Project Manager in successfully leasing over 81,000 acres in the Ouachita Thrust and Delaware Basin.

Dan Gualtier

Dan Gualtieri, is a senior energy industry executive and principal engineering professional working as a strategic advisor on oil and gas asset evaluations, business development strategies and full field development and optimization programs. He has held leadership roles including Executive VP of Business Development with BetaZi focusing on asset evaluations applying predictive analytics and statistical tools on oil and gas assets, acquisition and divestment transaction advisory, full field development and optimization strategies across the energy industry.

In past roles Gualtieri served as a VP of Business Development and Production Solutions with RPS-Knowledge Reservoir, responsible for global projects related to drilling, completions and production optimization; Director of Integrated Services with Baker Hughes responsible for cross service line opportunities between production enhancement, seismic, micro seismic, completions; wireline; artificial lifts; advanced research and regional engineering teams; and reservoir development services. Earlier, he served as a Director of Technology with Boots and Coots; and had 25 years with Halliburton in leading roles such as Regional Manager for Consulting and Project Management, Technology Manager focused on innovation and Houston Business Development and Global Product Champion leading groups of scientists, research groups and engineers to develop and deliver innovative technical solutions for completions, remote scada, data telemetry, fiber optic sensing, real time ops, coiled tubing, fracturing diagnostics, monitoring and optimization, hydraulic workover, reservoir monitoring, production hybrid solutions, flow assurance; data visualization, analysis software development, data storage and permanent downhole pressure control.

Gualtieri holds two US patents and has received a HART’s Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation. Managed numerous Top 10 technology development and commercialization projects. He has authored 14 Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) articles, professional journal papers and technical publications; delivered more than twenty major presentations as a keynote speaker at professional events. Gualtieri is a certified Project Management Professional with MBA and MS in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University. He holds BS in Electrical Engineering and BS in Physics from the University of Missouri, Rolla.

Dan serves as a Director of External Industry and Community Outreach with Tulane University for Business (T4B), member of the Industry Advisory Board with University of Houston, and the Greater Houston Salvation Army Advisory Board member.

He is a member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), The Project Management Institute (PMI), and The Independent Petroleum Association of America (IPAA).
